11.2.2 Windows Commander
You can use the Windows Commander to check availability of IP addresses,
domains or servers:
1. Open Windows commander:
Start > Run
.
2. Enter
"cmd".
3. Click [ OK ]
4. Enter the desired command in the command line C:\>:
Command
Result, application
ping <IP address> or
<domain>
Response times to the query: Checks whether an IP
address can be reached in the network.
Tracet <IP address>
or <domain>
Progress of the IP address implementation to the goal:
Check whether DNS and mail servers can be reached.
nslookup <IP address>
or <domain>
Translates an IP address to the domain name and
vice versa: Look up domain names.
