ET 200 Handheld

SPM Module

Siemens can also provide the ASIC SPM module (SIE-
MENS PROFIBUS Multiplexer) to support the connection
of programmable controllers to the SINEC L2–DP local
area network.

The ET 200 handheld implements the following functions
in conjunction with the SPM module:

Assignment and/or modification of the station number
(not possible with all slave stations)

STATUS/FORCE function

Input and output diagnostics

Warning

The setting of outputs when the load
circuit is closed may lead to danger-
ous plant condtions.
Set outputs are reset after about 1 se-
