3. Prepare the machine for service. See “Maintenance Safety” on page 2-8.
4. Start the engine and park in a safe location where the exhaust pipe will not face any combustible surface. See
“Starting the Engine” on page 4-12.
5. Place the hydraulic lockout control lever in the locked (closed) position. See “Hydraulic Lockout Control
6. Press the F5 function button on the home screen to access the System Information Password screen. Enter the
password 31868 to access the Engine and Throttle Signals screen. See “Home Screen” on page 3-42.
7. Press the F2 function button to engage the stationary regeneration function.
NOTE:
If the engine requires a regeneration cycle, it will begin. If the engine does not need a regeneration
cycle, the function will not engage. The regeneration cycle requires approximately 30 minutes,
depending on the soot load.
8. The SCR indicator will display a different color for each phase
of the regeneration procedure:
•
Steady Green
– Auto regeneration. Do not shut down the
engine.
•
Blinking Yellow
– Manual regeneration is needed. Start
the regeneration cycle by accessing the Engine and
Throttle Signals screen.
•
Steady Yellow
– Manual regeneration is in progress. Do
not shut down the engine.
•
Blinking Red
– SCR system failure. Blinking speed is
adjusted according to the inducement level of SCR. In this
situation, the Escape Mode function can be activated.
–
If there is an engine failure, the detailed information
(SPN-FMI number) will display on the Failure Code
screen on the right side of the P802 failure code.
–
If an SCR failure is detected, engine speed and power
may be restricted. The operator has three opportunities
to initiate the Engine Escape Mode by pressing the
engine escape mode (F3) button on the Engine and
Throttle Signals screen.
–
When the Escape mode is initiated, the engine will
recover its normal speed and power in approximately
30 minutes.
•
Steady Red
– SCR Failure, Final Inducement.
