BATTERY DISCONNECT SWITCH

The machine is equipped with a battery disconnect switch. When the switch is turned to the OFF position,
electrical power is disconnected from all machine systems. Turn the power off when securing the machine for the
day, or as needed when performing service.

To disconnect battery power from the machine:

1. Move the key switch to the OFF position.

NOTE:

The cab door must be closed to open the
battery compartment access door.

2. Open the battery compartment door. See “Left Rear

Access Door” on page 3-6.

3. Turn the battery switch (1) to the OFF position. The red

battery disconnect switch handle can be removed in the
OFF position to secure the machine.

4. Close the battery compartment door.

NOTICE!

• Never turn the battery disconnect switch to OFF while the engine is running.

• After machine shutdown, wait at least 1 minute for the Engine Control Module (ECM) to

complete its shutdown before turning the battery disconnect switch to OFF.

Failure to follow this notice could damage the machine or cause it to operate improperly.
