WORK AREA
The work area is where the actual job function is performed. Included within the work area are hazard areas
immediately surrounding the machine, where personnel may be at risk due to machine operation or movement.
All personnel within the work area must wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
The machine operator is responsible for the safety of all personnel within the hazard area.
GENERAL JOB SAFETY

OPERATOR RESPONSIBILITIES
The machine operator must do the following:
•
Reject the job site if there are doubts regarding safety.
•
Become familiar with the work area and surroundings before beginning work.
•
Read and completely understand the instructions in this manual prior to operation.
•
Know and obey the operating procedures, applicable laws, and regulations.
•
Know and follow the requirements for safe operation.
•
Know and use the required safety precautions and protective devices.
•
Know and use the correct hand signals to communicate with a signalman.
•
Stop the machine immediately if anything endangering safety is found.
•
Maintain complete control over the machine at all times.
•
Before leaving the cab, make sure that all controls are set to the neutral position and that the engine is shut
down.
•
Give warning signals when necessary.
WARNING!
Do not move the machine onto a surface or area that has not been approved for the machine.
The machine is heavy and could possibly break through surfaces that are not strong enough
to support it.
Failure to follow this warning could result in death or serious injury.
