5.2.8 Power Cell Status
Power cell status includes: phase A cell, phase B cell, phase C cell, Phase A cell status, phase B cell status, phase
C cell status. The number of power cell stages is the same as the numbers set in the System parameter, the
minimum setting is 1 stage, the max. 9 stage. During the time VFD is running, any power cell that has problem can
be shown on this display and which fault. Every power cell has 6 statuses: normal, fuse fault, over temperature
fault, IGBT drive fault, overvoltage, and fiber fault.
Figure 5-22 Power cell status display interface
When the VFD type is sync mode, it is allowed to enter the excitation monitoring interface. The excitation
monitoring information display includes three parts: excitation status, excitation options and excitation parameter
settings.
● Introduction of excitation regulation function:
1. The system can adapt the starting requirement of the brush sync motor and brushless sync motor by changing
the starting sequence of VFD and excitation system.
2. The system can improve the motor’s power factor by changing excitation current, so that the sync motor can
work in a high performance state.
3. In synchronous transfer switching, the synchronous switching is more stable by changing the control mode of
the excitation current.
● Excitation regulation process:
1.Starting process
Sync starting:
(1) The necessary conditions before Start: [NORMAL MODE] + [SYNC MOTOR VFD] + [EXCITATION
REGULATION ENABLE] + [SYNC START] + [VFD READY] + [EXCITATION READY]
(2) The user sends the activation signal, system activated, to start running. The system starts the excitation system
first, waiting for excitation cabinet runs, then starts the VFD. The VFD running, the exciting current outputs
automatically according to the [WORK MODE], and the start-up process is completed.
