Alarm contacts can be configured in one of three options, using IntelliLINK Setup Soft-
ware. See Figure 7, and Table 4.
Separate Alarm Contacts
Bank Neutral Over-voltage and Relay Trouble (new default)
When this setpoint is selected:
Alarm contacts operate capacitor bank or reactor neutral over-voltage only. If the neu-
tral over-voltage alarm was active at the last BankGuard PLUS power-down, this alarm
will remain active at power-up.
2nd Alarm contacts operate for relay trouble and loss of BankGuard PLUS control
power. This contact will always remain active following power-up.
NOTE: Separate alarm contacts require a hardware revision implemented after Serial
Number BGP200405000450. The software is backward compatible, but the new Sepa-
rate Alarm Contacts feature will not work on the previous hardware, however the Dual
(Redundant) Alarm Contacts settings will perform as expected.
Dual (Redundant) Alarm Contacts
When either of these two setpoints is selected all Alarm and 2nd Alarm contacts indi-
cate simultaneously for neutral over-voltage or relay trouble. To determine which con-
dition caused the alarm the user must connect to the BankGuard PLUS device with
their PC using IntelliLINK Setup Software and review the event logs.
Alarmed at Power-Up
When this setpoint is selected:
Alarm and 2nd Alarm contacts indicate simultaneously for neutral over-voltage, or relay
trouble, or loss of control power. The contacts will remain active following power-up of
the BankGuard PLUS.
Unalarmed at Power-Up (old default)
When this setpoint is selected:
Alarm and 2nd Alarm contacts indicate simultaneously for neutral over-voltage or relay
trouble, or loss of control power to the BankGuard PLUS.
