4) For a more intuitive setting of the gate, the “Trace Gate” can also be used, e.g. if [Gate Number] is set as “1” and
[Trace Gate] is also set as “1”, the position of Mark 1 and Mark 2 that correspond to the gate relative to the
waveform position can be seen in the waveform. According to the positions of Mark 1 and Mark 2, the start time
and length of the gate can be called in an intuitive way;
In the trace display window, enter the [Trace Ctrl] menu, select [Marker 1,2], and move through the [Left] and [Right]
keys.
If the display capacity becomes insufficient for the gate measurement display when the parameters such as the X scale
and trigger delay are changed, the system will automatically adjust the gate setting within the screen range. The
measurement of gate parameters is based on the range that between the current markers!
3.8.3 Gate setting in the trace display mode
In the trace display mode, the average power and peak power of only one gate can be measured, which corresponds to
the values of Mark 1 and Mark 2 automatically measured below the waveform in the medium and large window display
modes respectively.
The gate in the trace display mode is set as per the following steps:
1) Set [Trace Ctrl] >[Trace Gate] >[1] to select the gate corresponding to the mark below the current trace as 1, and A1
will be displayed correspondingly at the upper right corner of the trace display window; if the trace gate is selected
as 2, A2 will be displayed at the upper right corner;
2) Set [Meas Para] >[Pwr] to set the power measurement parameter, the power of Mark 1 and Mark 2 that correspond
to the current gate as well as the mark average and mark peak will be displayed in the left column below the trace
display;
3) Set [Meas Para] >[Time] to set the time measurement parameter, the time of Mark 1 and Mark 2 that correspond to
the current gate as well as the time length between Mark 1 and Mark 2 will be displayed in the left column below
the trace display.
3.8.4 Gate setting in the digit display mode
In the digit display mode, the displayed value is a setting of the gate. When the measured result is 2 in the digit display
mode: (1) measured result of a single parameter setting, such as “AVG PWR” and “Peak PWR” of a gate; (2) combined
measured results of 2 gates, such as the ratio of “AVGPWR of Gate 1” to “AVG PWR of Gate 2”.
The single and combined gate settings are described respectively hereinafter.
Single gate setting steps:
1) Set [Menu] >[Measure] >[Feed]. In the case of single channel measurement, the default channel is “Channel A”; in
the case of double channel measurement, “Channel A” or “Channel B” can be selected. Take [Channel A] as an
example;
