2.3.2.2 Measurement of rise time of pulse modulation signal
The Rise time and falling time of the pulse modulation signal envelope are parameters that attract the attention of many
users and can be quickly measured through the following simple parameter settings.
Step 1.
Set the trigger mode: Press [Menu]>[Trigger]>[A TrigMode]>[Continue Trig] to set the trigger mode as
“Continue Trig”;
Step 2.
Set the display mode: Press [Menu]>[Display]>[Disp Type]>[Trace A] to set the display mode as waveform
display; Press [Channel]>[Trace Ctrl]> [Trace Set]> [X scale] to set the X scale as 20 ns/div;
Step 3.
Set the trigger level: Press [Menu]>[Trigger]>[Settings]>[Trig Level] to set the trigger level to a value that is 3
dB less than the peak power of the measured signal. For example, if the peak power of the measured signal is +10 dBm,
the trigger level should be set to below +7 dBm.
Fig.2.15 Rise time test
The display will show the measured waveform and the automatically measured rise time. If the falling time is measured,
just change [Trig Slope] to “-”.
