Maintenance Unit Exchange Reset – Decapping

1

Lowers the maintenance unit ink caps and uncaps the print heads. The carriage
does not move.

2 Uncaps the print heads and moves the carriage to the left of the platen.

3

Uncaps the print heads and moves the carriage to the center of the platen. This is
the most often used procedure during servicing.

4. Turn the machine off.

5. Always slide a sheet of paper under the carriage unit after it has been moved to the center. This

protects the platen from ink that could drip from the uncapped print heads.
