OPTION
Two-pipe separated combustion systems:
Vertical venting:
The combustion air inlet must be a minimum of 18 inches above the roof deck and must exceed
the expected snow depth.
The exhaust gas outlet must be a minimum of 2.5 feet above the roof deck and 6 feet from the
nearest wall or adjoining building.
Horizontal venting:
The combustion air inlet must be positioned a minimum of 2 feet from the exterior wall and 3
feet above grade or expected snow depth.
The exhaust gas outlet must be located a minimum of 18 inches from the combustion air inlet
and a minimum of 1 foot from the exterior wall. It must be above the anticipated snow depth.
