10.4  Wire-Breaking Detection of PG Module (MCIM-2 Only)

The MCIM-2 module of the PG module provides the wire-breaking detecting function which
is not supported in the conventional MCIM-1 module. By receiving the differential signals of
the Phase A, B & Z outputs by the PG module with the balance circuit, detection of wire
breaking is enabled and that helps avoid any problems that may arise.

Fig.10-16 PG Signal Counting Point

PG counting mode setup (MCIM-2 only)

You can bring the PG signal counting of the channel into differential mode by setting the
PCIDEF as described below and specifying 1 (ON) in the execution task. The default is 0
(OFF):

PCIDEF CH1_DIF_MODE@[ BUS=1, SLOT=s, REGISTER=45, BIT=03 ]
PCIDEF CH2_DIF_MODE@[ BUS=1, SLOT=s, REGISTER=45, BIT=09 ]
PCIDEF CH3_DIF_MODE@[ BUS=1, SLOT=s, REGISTER=45, BIT=15 ]
PCIDEF CH4_DIF_MODE@[ BUS=1, SLOT=s, REGISTER=45, BIT=21 ]
PCIDEF CH5_DIF_MODE@[ BUS=1, SLOT=s, REGISTER=45, BIT=27 ]

If disconnection is detected in the channel set in differential mode at either Phase A, B or Z,
the variable that is defined in the configuration task as below will turn 1 (ON). When the
disconnection is recovered, the variable will turn back to 0 (OFF).

PCIDEF CH1_PG_ERR@[ BUS=1, SLOT=s, REGISTER=46, BIT=03 ]
PCIDEF CH2_PG_ERR@[ BUS=1, SLOT=s, REGISTER=46, BIT=09 ]
PCIDEF CH3_PG_ERR@[ BUS=1, SLOT=s, REGISTER=46, BIT=15 ]
PCIDEF CH4_PG_ERR@[ BUS=1, SLOT=s, REGISTER=46, BIT=21 ]
PCIDEF CH5_PG_ERR@[ BUS=1, SLOT=s, REGISTER=46, BIT=27 ]
