I. PRIOR TO FIRST USE
Carefully unpack the device, remove all packaging materials and stickers except
the one with the unit’s serial number. The absence of the serial number will
deprive you of your warranty benefits. Wipe all interior and exterior surfaces
of the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Wash the bowl with warm soapy water. Rinse
and dry thoroughly. Odor on first use of the appliance is normal and does not
indicate malfunction. In such case, clean the device (see “General Maintenance
Guidelines”). (
p. 8
).
Caution! Do not use the device after it malfunctions!
II. OPERATION
Before Use
Place the device on a flat, stable, and hard surface away from wallpaper, deco
-
rative coatings, or any other objects or cabinets that could be damaged by steam,
humidity, or high temperatures. Before operating the appliance, ensure that the
outer and inner parts of the pressure multicooker have no dents, cracks or any
other visible damages. There should not be any obstructions between the
heating element and the bowl.
Opening/Closing the Lid
Locking lid hermetically seals the device building up high pressure inside the
chamber of the pressure multicooker. When pressure inside the unit becomes
higher than atmospheric, the lid is being automatically locked. If the lid is
difficult to open after cooking, this indicates that the pressure multicooker is
still pressurized. Open steam release valve and release pressure.
To close the lid, cover pressure multicooker with the lid, and turn the lid lock
-
ing lever firmly clockwise.
To open the lid, turn the lid locking lever firmly counterclockwise and pull by
the handle to open.
CAUTION! Before opening the lid, ensure that the steam release valve is open
and not releasing steam. During operation the appliance becomes hot! Do not
touch metal parts of the lid during or after cooking. Open the lid holding it
by the handle.
Do not attempt moving the device holding it by lid handle! Use carrying
handles located on the housing.
Steam Release Valve
Pressure Multicooker REDMOND RMC-М110E is equipped with a steam release
valve located on the lid. Select cooking mode required by turning the steam
release valve into “HIGH PRESSURE” (steam valve is closed) or “NORMAL PRES-
SURE” (steam valve is open) positions. When the steam release valve is closed
the device works in a pressure cooker mode, when the steam release valve is
open, in multicooker mode.
Valve regulator design allows for free play.
When pressure cooking is complete, open the steam release valve to release
the pressure.
When cooking dishes that do not require a lot of liquid (rice, stews, etc.), steam
release valve can be opened right after cooking cycle is complete. When pres-
sure cooking liquids (soups, purees, etc.) let the device cool down for 5-10
minutes before opening the valve, to avoid contents venting through steam
outlet.
CAUTION! Opening the steam release valve during or after use may cause a
powerful vertical burst of steam. Please, be careful!
“Time Delay” Function
After selecting an automatic cooking mode, you may delay its start for a period
of time from 1 minute to 24 hours in 1 minute intervals (default delay time is
2 hours):
1. After selecting the mode and setting the cooking time, press “TIMER /
KEEP WARM” button. Display shows the time of delay, hour indicator is
blinking.
2. Use “+” and “—” buttons to set the hours, repress “TIMER / KEEP WARM”
button, and set the minutes. Press and hold “+” or “—” button to scroll
through the digits.
3.
Few seconds after the time of delay has been set digits on the display
stop blinking and the unit starts to count down the time.
4. Press “REHEAT/CANCEL” button to cancel the settings.
“FRY”, “POPCORN”, “BAKE” modes, and “Reheat” function cannot be delayed.
Do not use “Time Delay” function for perishable foods, such as eggs, milk, meat,
cheese, fish, etc.
Setting “Time Delay” function, remember that selected cooking mode starts
operating and the countdown begins only after the device reaches required
operating pressure and temperature.
If the timer is set for 24 hours you will not be able to adjust the minutes.
“Keep Warm” Function
When cooking cycle is complete (audible signal is heard, mode button indicator
goes off) the device automatically switches to “Keep Warm” (device displays
“Keep Warm” time in 1 hour increments). The function allows maintaining the
temperature of 60–80°С for a period of time up to 8 hours.
Press “REHEAT/CANCEL” button to disable the function: button indicator goes
off, the device enters standby mode.
For preliminary deactivation of “Keep Warm” function press “TIMER / KEEP
WARM” button (“REHEAT/CANCEL” button indicator goes off). To reactivate the
function repress “TIMER / KEEP WARM” button.
