RL Simulator (RLSimu)

This chapter describes the BirdWatch

®

RL unit simulator, which is a part of the client software.

No physical BirdWatch

®

RL units are required to follow the following steps described. See the

BirdWatch

®

RL user manual to know the rest of the client software.

RLSimu can simulate the complete set of events generated by a real BirdWatch

®

RL system.

Any number of units can be simulated, running as many instances of the program as desired.
It is possible to test a software designed to interact with a BirdWatch

®

RL

system.

7.1. Configuration

A couple of configuration files must be created:

●

General configuration file.

●

Detectors configuration file.

7.1.1. General configuration file

Contains the unit configuration.
This file corresponds to the configuration menu of a real BirdWatch

®

RL unit, so the

parameters described below refer to each parameter of the menu. See the BirdWatch

®

RL user

manual for detailed information about it.

The file structure is fixed but the parameters described may differ depending on the simulated
product. The file is divided into sections, defined between brackets, with their parameters
described below (one per line).
