QuercusVL Programming Manual
8. Additional functions
QuercusVL units have some auxiliary features not previously mentioned:
●
Information at FTP: allows to download the information of summaries and incidences
(data + pictures), directly from the integrated server in the unit.
●
Protocol encryption: allows to encrypt the communications protocol.
8.1. Information at FTP
The unit stores the generated summaries and incidences, at the embedded FTP server. To
access the data:
●
ftp://<ip_of_the_unit>/Log/Incidences
●
ftp://<ip_of_the_unit>/Log/Summaries
For each summary, an XML file with data is stored. For each incidence, an XML file with data,
two or three JPEG files (depending on the incidence type) with the related images and a AVI
file with the related video (only for BirdWatch
®
units) are generated. The images are digitally
signed to detect any later manipulation.
Keep in mind, that stored data make two records (summaries and incidences) of limited size,
so once the disk is full of data, the oldest data will be deleted automatically. If you want to
modify the available size for each record, see SmartLoop
®
or BirdWatch
®
user manual.
If Integration tool is enabled, all data collected is also stored in the embedded FTP server. To
access Integration tool data:
●
ftp://<ip_of_the_unit>/Log/Integration/SetX (where 'X' is the Set identifier).
See BirdWatch
®
user manual to know more about Integration tool.
Note that, when working with encrypted communication, it is not possible to access to stored
summaries and incidences using the FTP server. In this case the SFTP server must be used.
See 8.2.2. SFTP server.
8.1.1. XML files
8.1.1.1. Presence summary
The name of the XML file is <SummaryId>.xml , where “SummaryId” is the summary identifier
left padded with zeros until reaching eight digits. The contents of the file is the following:
