PiXtend eIO Hardware Manual
The following points must be observed for reliable connection of the protective conductor
to the hood and for safe use of PiXtend eIO:
–
At no point of PiXtend eIO may dangerous voltage (greater than 50 V) be
applied during normal operation
–
Always connect both metal parts of PiXtend eIO Pro devices to the protective
conductor (DIN rail housing & stainless steel cover)
–
Lay out the cross-section of PE according to the conductor cross-sections which
carry dangerous voltages (but at least one cable with a cross-section of 1.5 mm²
AWG15/16)
–
When connecting PE, use a wire (wire or stranded wire) with the usual green /
yellow color coding
–
Use flat plugs with "locking lug" which locks in the hood and protects against
unintentional loosening / pulling off
–
Checking the tab for a firm fit and for electrical connection
–
The protective conductor connection must comply with the legal
requirements of the country in which PiXtend is to be used. If you are unsure,
contact a local and approved electrical installation company or consult your
local authority.
