Cleaning the Inside of the Printer

WARNING! Unplug the printer’s power cord before cleaning the
printer and ensure that the

using unit has cooled down.

To maintain clear, crisp print quality, clean the paper pick-up rollers
beneath the toner cartridge and in the media cassettes and the win-
dow glass of the print head unit:

Every time the toner cartridge is changed.
n
Whenever print quality becomes unsatisfactory.
Procedure
1 Remove the toner cartridge.
This procedure is described “Replacing a Toner Cartridge” on
page 5-6.
» Note: If you plan to reinstall the toner cartridge, put it back in its
aluminum bag or in a desk drawer, or cover it with a thick cloth
while cleaning the interior of the printer. The toner cartridge can
be damaged by exposure to light.
