3.9 Switching on-air to black/silence
The TX 410 transmission on-air can be replaced with black/silence at
any time by pressing a single key.
The black can be positioned before DSK 1, between DSK 1 & 2, or after
DSK 2. The fade rate can be configured to be between 0 (cut) and 99
frames. Refer to the technical manual.

Press the
<BLACK/SIL>
button in the top right-hand corner of the
panel.
The
<BLACK/SIL>
button lights up as the on-air output from the
TX 410 fades to black/silence The
<BLACK/SIL>
button flashes
when the fade to black/silence is complete.

To return the sources currently selected on the TX 410 to air, press
the
<BLACK/SIL>
button.
The current sources on the PGM bus, the audio setting, and any
DSKs and audio-over currently cut in, are faded back in again.
The
<BLACK/SIL>
button lights while the transition is in progress and
goes out when complete.
Black/silence remains in effect until it is cancelled by pressing the
button again. Black/silence is not cancelled by a transition or by hot
cutting a programme to air.
Where the black/silence transition has been configured to fade to/ from
black and silence, the transition can be completed early by pressing the
button twice.
