SUSPENSION | Brake Cooling Front Axle

The brake ventilation on the front axle of the 911 GT3 Cup MR Gen.II has been significantly increa-
sed compared to the base vehicle. The cooling air flows to the brakes on the front axle via openings
in the front bumper.
4.3 Brake Cooling

NOTE
The flexible hose section is heavily stressed by the steering move-
ments while driving and is subject to increased wear. A visual inspec-
tion before each session is recommended. Defective hose sections
must be replaced immediately.

NOTE
Do not tighten the hose clamps with a higher torque as specified.
NOTE
Before each session, all components must be checked for unrestricted
air flow and damage.
NOTE
In order to prevent the brake system from over
-
cooling in races with
extremely long straights (e.g. Nordschleife), the brake vents should be
partially closed with suitable means (blanking plate). The target should
be to maintain the brake disc temperature at approx. 250
-
300°C in
order to guarantee optimal braking performance at all times and to
counteract the premature wear of the brake discs (cracking).
