5.3.3 DCC Configuration
This menu allows to change settings for DCC operation.
„DCC Address“
When being used on a digital DC layout (DCC only!) the car can do some functions via the digital command
station, to have some more fun:
F0 on – switches off the display on the car
F1 – switch one display page to the left
F2 – switch one display page to the right
Technical notice:
On Märklin- or AC-tracks it is not possible to connect DCC-data or to check voltage, because the car does not have an AC-pick up slide in the
middle.
„Loco Address“
For maintenance or checking for errors the PIKO SmartMeasure Car also can „listen” to a locomotive’s address.
In connection with the software “PIKO Analyst” (55051) you then could check f.e. if a digital signal is transferred to the track properly or not (may
be need to check command stations settings) or if the signal was transferred properly, but the loco didn’t react (may be defective locomotive).
By default the sniffer address is “3” (locomotives address to listen to).
„Auto“
When this function is active the PIKO SmartMeasure Car offers an automatic function to be assigned to a different locomotives address. If you
want to assign a new loco to the car, just switch on / switch off the locomotives light for three times within three seconds (3x on / 3x off). The car
will recognize this command and assign the new loco address as “sniffer address”.
Then you can control the speed level directly with the car or the app. In combination with the software “PIKO Analyst” (55051) even some more
tests can be done.
The function of automatic address assignment is called „toggling”, and the related address is the so called “sniffer address” then.
