• DCC sniffer address / „Loco Address“
The car also can listen to an assigned locomotive address (“to sniff”).
That functions allows to check more detailed for problems, f.e. if the command station has a problem or if the locomotive itself has a defect.
In connection with computer software even more functions are possible.
For example the measured values can be stored in an archive, they can be assigned to a specific locomotive or average values can be checked.
Besides that the software makes it possible to freely setup the display layouts and the displayed data on those screens.
2.4 Function modes
The PIKO SmartMeasure Car can be operated in different modes:
1. The car only - „StandAlone“
The actual values are shown on the display directly. After activating a “test run” up to 180minutes data can be stored in the internal memory.
The displayed screens can be switched via touch sensitive areas left and right of the screen.
In the operation mode not all possible features are available.
2. In connection with an Android application
The app will, same as the car, just display the actual measured values.
Via settings menu you can choose which data should be displayed on the app. Besides that the app allows to assign new DCC-address and new
Loco-address.
Additionally the two arrows on the main page of the app allow to switch the displayed screens on the car.
The measured values on the mainpage easily can be switched through different units (like cm/s, m/s or km/h(1:87) )by touching on them directly..
3. In connection with PC-Software (non-free version / purchase version*)
This software allows to display all measured values graphical by choice. You can display single data only, you can analyze a specific time-area or
compare data of a specific area with the help of the distance – and much more!
When connected via USB additional settings are possible, like display setup or address setup.
* Besides the purchase software „PIKO Analyst“ (55051) we also offer a free software called “PIKO Messwagen ConfigTool” which allows to do some basic settings on
the car, like display configuration, or for charging via USB. With this software the cars firmware also can be updated.
