2.3 Functions and measuring methods
• Distance:
The driven distance can be displayed in cm, m and km (1:87) by default. For US measures like inch, foot and mile please see “Units” in chapter
4.2.1.
In connection with the computer software “PIKO Analyst” it is possible to check the total daily (or others) which then can be assigned to a specific
loco with the archive function.
• Speed:
The current speed can be displayed in cm/s, m/s and km/h (1:87) by default.
For US measures like in/s (inch per second) , ft /s (foot per second) and mph (1:87 / miles per hour) please see “Units” in chapter 4.2.1.
In connection with the computer software “PIKO Analyst” it is possible to check daily average speed or day’s top-speed.
• Slope / raising:
With this new highlight a slope can be measured up to 0,1% exactly!
This makes it possible to built a layout “according to the standard”, to built a track helix very properly or to check existing slopes on a finished
layout, to see whats the maximum raising there.
At the same time, if you already got an existing layout, a „drivable” raising can be used for calibration – set the cars sensors to zero on that
existing slope – afterwards you can built a new slope “on zero” to get the same raising again – it works like a level then – but exact on 0,1%!
• Gear / tilt / notion:
Another completely new feature is the check of the gear (track notion towards left and right side). You can display the gear up to 0,1% exactly,
what makes it possible to built super-elevations in accordance with the standard – or with an existing layout. Just a you wish!
• Voltage:
No matter if analogue or digital voltage – the effective voltage is displayed in Volts.
By that you easily can find problematic areas on the track which may need an additional power input spot or even a repair.
*only on „DC“-tracks
• Car’s own DCC-address
You can give the car a specific DCC address. With that feature you can switch off the display or switch through the displays data with function
buttons of your digital command station.
