1. Introduction
Congratulations for your decision to buy the PIKO SmartMeasure Car as you got a technical highlight which did not exist in the model train world
before!
With the technology included in the PIKO SmartMeasure Car it becomes possible for the first time to measure much more than speed and
distance only.
As the model train hobby permanently grows and develops the requirements for planning and building layouts and their later testing also grow
permanently.
Besides building a proper track other facts, for example setting the maximum speed like the real train, become more and more important.
Until today it was a hard job to check a finished layout in detail or it needs special measuring methods to ensure the layout is like required.
Not visible areas of the layout were nearly impossible to check at all.
Checking a layout can be done with a train easily, to see if the track is powered, if tracks are assembled properly and if a hill can be climbed, too.
But in this case there are no detailed values available, you just know: It works - or it doesn’t!
Rebuilding such a layout may become a difficult task without exact values.
For higher building requirements it becomes necessary to measure exact values.
These are f.e. the exact model speed, the driven distance, the raising of a hill, the slope of a track or the voltage which is available on the track.
With the help of the PIKO SmartMeasure Car all these measurements can be done very easy and comfortable now, and all of this very detailed!
Besides using the PIKO SmartMeasure Car in Standalone-mode there are possibilities to connect with an Android device or a computer via WiFi.
The integrated WiFi module can provide data to 4 devices at the same time, where the measured values can be displayed.
You can then check your measured values up to one centimeter or 0,1 percent exactly! You’ll be surprised what you may find out about your
layout!
