Displaying and reading errors
Diagnostic indicators and
diagnostic messages
Depending on the error type, errors that are diagnosed are displayed via the local diagnostic
indicators and/or transmitted to the safe controller as diagnostic messages.
See
“Local diagnostic and status indicators” on page 19
.
Error detection time
Please observe the error detection time.
See
“Error detection time” on page 23
.
Function blocks
Diagnostic messages are read via controller-specific function blocks. These are available
on the Internet.
Error location
The error location reported to the function block corresponds to terminal points 0 ... 7 of
inputs IN0_CH1 ... IN3_CH2.
See
“Terminal point assignment” on page 18
.
Example:
In the event of a short circuit at terminal point 5 of input IN2_CH2, value 0x05 is indicated in
the function block.
WARNING: Loss of the safety function
Using diagnostic data for safety-related functions can result in the loss of the safety func
-
tion as diagnostic data is not safety-related.
•
Do not use the diagnostic data for safety-related functions or actions.
