3 Product description
3.1 Short description
The AXL SE PSDI8/3 Smart Element is a safe input module in the Axioline SE product range
for use in a PROFIsafe system.
The Smart Element is suitable for use on an Axioline F backplane. The Smart Element is
integrated in the Axioline F system via the Axioline F backplane.
The Smart Element has four safe digital inputs for 2-channel assignment or eight safe digital
inputs for 1-channel assignment. The inputs can be parameterized in accordance with the
specific application. They enable sensors to be integrated into the safe system.
The Smart Element is configured in the PROFIsafe system using the corresponding engi

neering tool of the safety controller used.
