A long operation while not driving will put the Omni to sleep. To wake the Omni,
a short operation of the User Switch is required.
The time of a long operation is preset to 1 Second, but it is programmable from
0.5 to 5.0 Seconds via the parameter Switch Long. See section Switch Long in
the Programming chapter for more details.
There is a further programmable parameter associated with the operation of
the User Switch, Switch Medium. This parameter is only applicable with 3-axis
type SIDs, i.e. 3 switch head controls. Refer to the Programming Chapter for full
details of this function.
9.2
Accessing Wheelchair Functions
The Omni can be programmed to access all the available wheelchair
functions in two ways – by Menu or by Sequence. The programmable
parameter that sets the access method is User Control.
The Menu method is whereby an activation of the User Switch while in Drive
Mode will bring up an on-screen User Menu as shown below. SID direction
commands are then used to navigate the menu and select functions.
The Sequence method is whereby successive activations of the User Switch will
sequentially access all the wheelchair functions.
It is not advisable to program the menu options,
‘speed adjust’ or ‘profile select’, if the Sequence
method is being used with scanning operation. Refer
to the Programming Chapter for further details.
