8.2.10 Keys Inoperative
Possible causes:
(a) Defective Keys.
The key buttons on the keyboard are single items and any individual button can be
replaced by a serviceable item. However, each key contact is part of the keyboard
PCB and will have to be replaced in its entirety if its serviceability is suspect.
Refer to Paragraph 7.3.13 and Figure 24 for removal instructions.
If the fault is traced to the switch tracking on the printed circuit board then the
keyboard printed circuit board can be replaced (see Paragraph 7.3.13.
8.2.11 SD Card Not Recognised
Possible causes:
(a) Faulty SD card.
(b) Console control board faulty.
Firstly, insert another SD card to see if that one is recognised. If it is, the original
card is faulty.
If the fault is not due to a faulty SD card then it may be a faulty console control
board that must be replaced by a known serviceable item - Paragraph 7.3.6 refers.
8.2.12 GPS Not Working
Possible Cause:
(a)
Antenna faulty.
(b)
GPS module faulty on console control board.
(c) Antenna cable assembly faulty.
With reference to Figures 55 and 56, check the continuity of the external GPS
antenna and the antenna cable assembly. The GPS module is a part of the console
control board and if faulty should be replaced as described in Paragraph 7.3.6.
8.2.13 Smart Card Not Accepted
Possible Cause:
(a)
Antenna assembly faulty.
(b)
Antenna board faulty.
(c) Antenna cable assembly faulty.
(d)
Console control board faulty.
With reference to Figures 51 and 52, check the continuity of the antenna cable
assemblies. The antenna and console control board can only be checked by direct
substitution with known serviceable items. Refer to Paragraphs 7.2.4 and 7.3.6
respectively.
