6.2.7 Dynamic
DNS
The
Dynamic DNS Configuration
allows users to register with a Dynamic DNS Provider. The
Dynamic DNS is linked to the WAN IP of the router even after the VSP has updated the WAN IP
to another IP address.
This function is useful in web hosting and FTP services.
Follow the steps below to access and configure
Dynamic DNS
.
Step 1:
To
access
Dynamic DNS Configuration
, click the
Basic
link located at the top right-
hand side of the page.
Step 2:
Click
the
Dynamic DNS
link located on the left menu. The following page appears:
Step 3:
To
setup
Dynamic DNS Configuration
, check to
Enable
this option. It is defaulted to
Disabled
.
Step 4:
Select
the
DDNS Server
from the list box.
Step 5:
Select the Update Type from the list box options. The options include: dyndns
(Dynamic DNS), custom or static.
Step 6:
Enter
the
Username
and
Password
.
Step 7:
Enter the
Host Name
field. Five boxes are provided from 0 to 4.
Step 8:
Click
the
Apply
button to save your settings.
