10. Troubleshooting
If the OPEN 812L VoIP ATA router is not functioning properly, check this section for the
troubleshooting scenario before contacting your service provider.
10.1
Problems starting up the router
Problem Corrective
Action
None of the LEDs are
on when you turn on
the router.
Check the connection between the power adaptor and the OPEN 812L
VoIP ATA router is connected to the power source. Check all cable
connections. If the error persists, you may have a hardware problem.
In this case you should contact technical support.
You have forgotten
your router login
and/or password.
Try the default login and password. If this fails, you can restore your
router to its default factory settings by holding the
Reset
button on the
back of your router for more than 3 seconds.
10.2
Problems Connecting to the Internet

Action
Cannot access the
Internet
1. Verify that the Internet connection settings are set up correctly by
checking the following pages:

DHCP Client: Ensure that this function is ENABLED;

PPP: Ensure that this function is ENABLED if the ADSL modem
is in bridged mode.
2. Check that the cables are all connected correctly.

Problems with the Telephone Line

Action
There is no dial tone
Check the telephone connections. You can test the telephone cable by
using it to connect to a telephone wall jack and check for a dial tone.
The dial tone beeps
(pulses)
Make sure your VSP settings are properly configured. The dial tone is
steady when the SIP account is registered.
Cannot make or
receive VoIP calls
Check that your VSP account status in the
Overall Status
page is
registered. Make sure that you have configured your VSP's details
correctly. If you configured a SIP account to receive calls on only one of
the telephone ports, make sure your telephone is connected to that
port.
Cannot make or
receive PSTN calls
Check that all the cables are connected correctly.
