It is recommended that a 10% bleach solution or pre-saturated wipes, containing a minimum of 0.55%
sodium hypochlorite, be used to disinfect the outer surfaces of the meter. Equivalent disinfecting agents
may be used as specified by the local regulations or guidelines and must be effective against Hepatitis B,
HIV and other blood borne pathogens as per the manufacturer’s labeling for the disinfectant.

Please contact LifeScan® Customer Service and/or LifeScan® sales representative before
using an alternative to the recommended disinfectant above as other chemicals may damage the meter.

Do Not
allow liquids, dirt, dust, blood, linearity, or control solution to enter the
test strip port or the data port.

Do Not
squeeze cloth into test strip port.
•
Do Not
spray cleaning solution on the meter.
•
Do Not
immerse the meter in any liquid or hold it under running water because
this will damage the meter.
• Ensure the disinfectant manufacturer’s instructions are followed for handling the disinfectant product.
