Speed / Performance of OSS EB3200
The ExpressBox 3200 is x8 Gen3 = 8GB/s.
The ExpressBox 3200 is composed of three boards, the backplane, the expansion card and the host card.
The backplane is Gen3 with a x16 slot connector wired as x8 lane.
The expansion and host interface cards are both Gen3 x16.
The slot is x8 lane, in which the Expansion card is plugged in, so your speed is x8 (8GB/s) due to the limitation of PCIe lane available
on the slot.
NOTE: If you plug in a x16 GPU or PCIe card into the OSS EB3200 unit the performance will throttle down to x8.
The picture below shows a different backplane, from Expansion chassis model EB3600. The PCIe slot is x16 wired as x16 lane. With this
configuration your speed will be 16GB/s.
