2.12 Hardware Check – Verify Connection
Once you have installed the Interface cards correctly and both computer and expansion chassis are running, the next step is to check the LED
Link UP status. Verify that the following LEDs on the Expansion and Host Interface cards are ON. Host and Expansion cards with a proper link
established should show up with 4 solid green LEDs.
You should see the following LEDs are illuminated:
a.
8 green LEDs on the Expansion Interface card.
b.
8 green LEDs on the Host Interface Card.
8 green LEDs that are illuminated, it means x8 link.
The Backplane power LED indicator should display four solid green LEDs. If it is only displaying two LEDs, it is an indication that the expansion
unit is on standby mode (unit is not powered UP).
