1-1-3 What Is a Controller Link Support Board?

A Controller Link Support Board is used to directly connect an IBM PC/AT or
compatible with an ICA or PCI bus to a Controller Link Network. A Controller Link
Support Board supports data links, a message service, and RAS functions in the
same way as a Controller Link Unit.

The Support Board is mounted in an expansion slot in the computer. The follow-
ing Support Boards are available depending on the type of connection cable.
