Error Messages
Any error messages generated by the terminal are principally displayed on the top
left of the display. The error messages are generated by the terminal software in
plain text. The error message is displayed once at the cursor position 1,1. The
previous text will be overwritten. The message will not be deleted! - but will rather
need to be overwritten by the user. This must be taken into consideration when
creating the program. The following internal error text might be displayed:
LOW BAT
Indicates that the capacity of the battery to back data
is falling below the required level. Upon initial display
of this message, the battery should be replaced within
2-3 days! A battery test is performed after the terminal
has been switched on and every 60 minutes there-
after.
FRAMING ERROR
The data format of the characters received at the in-
terface does not conform with the selected interface
parameters. Check number of data bits, stop bits and
parity bit.
PARITY ERROR
A parity error has been detected regarding the char-
acters received at the interface. This indicates a pos-
sible problem with the transmission line (character
length, baud rate, interference, invalid interface pa-
rameter etc.)
OVERRUN ERROR
The terminal was unable to interpret and evaluate the
characters received at the interface. This indicates a
possible error regarding the handshake procedure be-
tween terminal and controller. Check hardware or
software handshake.
TRANSMIT ERROR
On account of a blocked transmitter (no handshake
enable signal), the terminal was unable to transmit the
characters within the specified timeout period. This in-
dicates an error regarding the handshake procedure
between terminal and controller. Check hardware or
software handshake.
KEYBOARD ERROR
PLEASE RELEASE KEY
The self-test performed on the keyboard after having
switched on the terminal has detected that a key is
being pressed. Please comply with the message. Dis-
play of this message without any key being pressed
indicates a defect in the keyboard!
