Your healthcare provider will help you fill and apply your first
Pod. The process is easy because on-screen messages walk you
through every step. Please refer to Chapter 5, Using the Pod, for
detailed instructions.
You can press and hold the
Power
button to turn off the
PDM at any time during setup. Otherwise, it turns off
automatically after 5 minutes. If you do not complete the
entire setup within 60 minutes, when you turn on the
PDM again you will return to the beginning of the Setup
Wizard.
You may want to adjust the PDM screen time-out
and backlight time-out. For more information on
how to do this, see Chapter 6, Using the Personal
Diabetes Manager.
Use the form at the end of this
User Guide
to write
down all your settings from the Setup Wizard. You
can also attach a copy of the pump therapy orders
that you used during your training session. If you
ever need to reset your PDM, having these settings
handy will make setup very easy.
