RECEPTION
This section describes the various methods of reception that can be adopted on the fax machine.
The fax machine is initially set for
automatic
reception.
Automatic reception mode is indicated by the display illustrated on the
right. You can change the reception method at any time by pressing
RX
MODE
.
RECEPTION METHODS
The fax machine can receive documents in the following modes:
Automatic reception:
•
When the machine is set to this operating mode, it will only respond to fax calls. The document is
received automatically, without requiring your presence. This reception mode is recommended when the
user has two separate lines, one for the fax machine and one for the telephone. In this way there is no
interference between the two types of call (telephone and fax). The fax machine is supplied preset for
this operation mode.
Manual reception:
•
When the machine is set to this reception mode, you must be present to answer the call. When the
phone rings, lift the handset and listen to determine whether it is a fax or telephone call. This reception
mode is recommended when the fax machine and telephone are both connected to the same line. This
system is also better suited to situations where there is not a high number of incoming faxes that
interfere with the ordinary telephone calls.
Reception with automatic recognition of fax and telephone calls:

With the fax machine set to this reception mode, the machine is capable of automatically distinguishing
between telephone and fax calls for the reception of a document and will respond accordingly. This is
the ideal reception mode to use when the fax machine and telephone are connected to the same line,
being more practical than Manual reception mode.
Remote control reception:
•
When the fax machine is connected to a telephone network with more than one telephone socket,
reception can be activated from a telephone connected to a socket distant from the fax machine.
