INSTALLATION PARAMETERS
PROGRAMMING EXAMPLE: TEL. LINE SET-UP
This parameter is to be set in accordance with the type of telephone line on which the fax machine is to be
used. The fax machine may be connected to a public line, as is most likely the case, or to a private
switchboard. This section describes the options available for the two line types. The last 16 options are only
available in certain countries.
This chart gives an example programming sequence. Follow the instructions referring to the chart on the
previous page.

The display shows the machine operating mode with date and time.

to select the “TEL. LINE SET-UP” sub-menu.

The display proposes the first option regarding the type of
telephone line to which the machine is to be connected.
The machine may be connected to a public line (PSTN: Public
Switch Telephone Network) or a private exchange (PBX: Private
Branch Exchange
)
. For our example we chose the private line
option as this the more complex case.

The display shows the first of the two dialling mode options (tone
or pulse). In our example we choose the tone dial option.

dialling (prefix, earth or flash). In this example we choose external
dialling with prefix.
