THE TELEPHONE ANSWERING DEVICE

The telephone from which you are calling must be operating in
tone dialling
mode. The TAD access
code must have been programmed. To be able to play messages and set up the TAD, these functions
must be enabled using the access code sub-menu. See
Programming chart and description of the sub-
menu: access code
1.
Dial the fax number on the remote telephone.
The TAD answers by playing an outgoing message.

Dial the programmed access code
The TAD emits an audible confirmation signal (a long beep)

•
the TAD/FAX RX mode has not been enabled on the fax, enable it by waiting for the
connecting tones to end and dialling the access code.
•
the message is not interrupted when the first digit in the code is typed, type it again.
•
the code is wrong, the TAD emits two short beeps.
•
no code is entered, the connection with the fax machine is lost
•
there are no more messages on the TAD at the end of the play operation, the TAD emits 2
short beeps

Select the desired operation and press the relevant key or keys indicated in the tables above.
The TAD confirms the operation by emitting a beep.

HOW TO RECORD OUTGOING MESSAGES FROM A REMOTE LOCATION
Recording OGM #1 and #2 messages from a remote location is a slightly longer procedure and is explained
in this section.

The telephone from which you are calling must be set in
tone dialling
mode. The TAD access code
must have been programmed. To be able to set up the TAD, this function must be enabled using the
access code sub-menu. See

When the TAD recognizes these commands, the TAD plays the selected message followed by
three beeps.

After the third beep, record the desired voice message and terminate the procedure by hanging
up or by pressing

to confirm the recording and then hanging up.
The TAD confirms the recording by emitting a beep.

no message is recorded or the message is too long, the procedure is automatically aborted.
