Control FTP and TELNET network access
By default the SafeCom Controller can be accessed via FTP to update software
(2.9.1) and via TELNET to do troubleshooting if instructed to do so by support
personnel. To disable these network access methods follow these steps:
1.
Open the
Advanced Configuration
web page (2.7.2).

Click
General
and scroll to
Network Access
.
3.
Change
Enable FTP access
to
No
.
4.
Change
Enable TELNET access
to
No
.
5.
Click
Save and Continue
.
6.
Click
Restart
.

SafeCom Controller update software
1.
Download the file(s) from the links supplied to you. Unzip the files. There
are one current and two obsolete types of SafeCom Controllers:
SafeCom Controller
(p/n 10401x)
Features a built-in 2-port switch (no need for additional network
outlet). Supports full-duplex transmission.
Unzipped file: 508nnn.b80, where nnn is the version.
SafeCom Controller 3 Port
(obsolete)
Features a built-in 3-port hub (no need for additional network
outlet). Supports half-duplex, but not full-duplex transmission.
Unzipped file: 312nnn.b80, where nnn is the version.
SafeCom Controller 1 Port
(obsolete)
Features one network port, but supports full-duplex transmission.
Unzipped file: 304nnn.b80, where nnn is the version.

Download the software file to the SafeCom Controller using one of the
following methods:
