Connect SafeCom MFP Cable:
1.
Power off the MFP and the SafeCom Controller.

Connect the SafeCom MFP Cable.
Refer to the relevant subsections for additional instructions.

Power on the MFP.

Power on the SafeCom Controller.
On the SafeCom Controller:

Open the
Advanced Configuration
web page (2.7.2).

Click
Printer
and change
Copy Enabled
to
YES
and change
Use auto
configuration to
YES
.
Normally
Print Manufacturer
will be filled-in automatically to reflect one
of these:
HP
,
RICOH
,
CANON
,
SHARP
,
XEROX
,
OCE
,
KYOCERA
,
CANON_OLD
,
PANASONIC
,
OCE_OLD, SHARP_AR
or
OTHER
. If there is a
problem controlling the copy interface you should experiment using the
two options:
GENERIC_DSR_OFF
and
GENERIC_DSR_ON
.

Save and Continue

SafeCom MFP Cable Canon
Connect the SafeCom MFP Cable’s white connector to the MFP’s FIH port.
Note
: If you try to make copies without being logged in via SafeCom, the MFP’s
control panel displays

SafeCom MFP Cable HP
This applies to HP LaserJet M3035 MFP, CM3530 MFP, M4345 MFP, 4345mfp,
CM4730 MFP, 4730mfp, M5035 MFP, CM6030 MFP, CM6040 MFP, 8150mfp,
9000mfp, 9000lmfp, M9040 MFP, 9040mfp, M9050 MFP, 9050mfp and 9500mfp.
The MFP’s FIH connector is located on the MFP’s rear panel. Connect the
SafeCom MFP Cable’s green PS2 connector to the FIH port.

Use software from HP to enable the Foreign Interface Harness (FIH). Refer
to the MFP’s manual or go to hp.com and search for ‘
Foreign Interface
Harness
’.
