Powering down a 16-slot Passport switch
Power down a switch if you are doing maintenance procedures that require all
power to the switch to be off.
Procedure steps
1
Turn off the circuit breakers for the outlets that supply power to your
switch.
The front panel LED of each power supply remains lit for approximately
two minutes after the power supply loses power.
If the primary power to the shelf assembly is on, never set the individual
power supply switches to the standby position. This can cause an
overload to the on-line power supply.
2
After a couple of minutes, verify the LEDs for the power supplies, cooling
unit, and each processor card faceplate are off.
