Passport 7400 Hardware Installation, Maintenance, and Upgrade 5.2S1

You will need a multiport aggregate device with one of the following
PECs:
— NT0486AA (balanced, DC powered)
— NT0420AA (balanced, AC powered)
— NT0421AA (unbalanced, DC powered)
— NT0422AA (unbalanced, AC powered)

Before installing a multiport aggregate device, ensure that all cables,
including the power cables, are disconnected from the unit.
Procedure steps

Fasten a bracket to each side of the multiport aggregate device using two
of the screws and the flat washers provided. See the figure “Installing
brackets on a multiport aggregate device” (page 245).

If you are installing the first panel on the rack, connect the grounding wire
(supplied separately by Nortel Networks) to the top right securing screw.
See the figure “Grounding 19” termination panels” (page 206).
or
If you are installing the lowest panel on the rack, secure the bottom of the
grounding strip and a grounding wire to the rack with a screw.

Use a 5/16-inch socket wrench to secure the brackets to the cabinet or
rack with four of the screws provided.
Allow at least 90 cm (36 in.) clearance in front of the device for operator
access. Allow at least 10 cm (4 in.) clearance at the rear of the device for
cable connections.
