To install a new CPU

Remove the new microprocessor from its antistatic package.

Install the new microprocessor and heat sink as shown in Figure 38
on page 209. See also the description that follows on page 210.

Risk of electrical damage
Wear an antistatic ESD wrist strap during the entire CPU
replacement process.

CAUTION
Risk of equipment damage
Do not touch the pins on the microprocessor. The pins
are static-sensitive and bend easily.
