ACTUATOR LIFT NUT ADJUSTMENT
1
Remove the Pad Lift Actuator from the machine. Follow steps 1-6 of the
Pad Lift Actuator Removal and Installation
section.
2
The original actuator power cord assembly can not be used to set the actuator nut and limit switch settings since the power output
is time controlled through the main electronic control board.
3
See Figure 1. This shows the special actuator power Cord Adapter (C) (PN 56407502) that is needed to connect the batteries and
the actuator together for testing.
FIGURE 1
4
Open the battery compartment cover and
disconnect the battery connector. Lay the
connector outside of the battery compart-
ment and close the cover. The battery pack
is needed to power the lift actuator motor to
properly set the up and down limit switches.
5
Connect the new actuator motor to the power
Cord Adapter (C), then hold the drive nut from
turning.
6
Connect the alligator clips (red wire to nega-
tive and black wire to positive) to the battery
connector. The rocker switch is used to
change the motor rotation in setting the cor-
rect drive nut dimension. Press the switch
and allow the actuator to run until the down
limit switch stops it.
Actuator DOWN Limit Switch Adjustment:
7
See Figure 1. Turn the Plastic Drive Nut (A)
on the actuator shaft to the 1-1/2 inch (3.81
cm) DOWN position. NOTE: This adjustment
must be done with the pad lift actuator motor
stopped in the DOWN position.
Actuator UP Limit Switch Adjustment:
8
Hold the plastic nut to prevent it from turning,
press the rocker switch to run the actuator
motor and wait for the actuator to stop. This
will make the actuator run to the UP position.
9
Measure the up position of the plastic nut on the actuator nut as shown.
10
If the measurement is more than 4-1/2 inches (11.43 cm), remove the Adjuster Cover (B) and turn the adjuster counter-clockwise
to reduce the travel of the nut.
11
If the measurement is less than 4-1/4 inches (10.80 cm), remove the Adjuster Cover (B) and turn the adjuster clockwise to increase
the travel of the nut.
NOTE: Each click of the adjuster will change the travel of the nut approximately 1/16” (1.6 mm).
12
After each adjustment, hold the plastic nut, run the actuator up and down to check the proper position of the nut. After testing, leave
the drive nut in the UP position and replace the adjuster cover (B).
13
Disconnect the Cord Adapter (C) from the actuator and re-connect the battery connector.
14
Plug the new, properly adjusted actuator motor into the lift actuator electrical cord assembly on the machine.
15
Turn the key switch ON, close the seat switch, hold the drive nut from turning, put the pad raise/lower switch in the DOWN position
and wait for the actuator to stop. This procedure positions the drive nut (should measure 2-1/4 to 2-3/8 inches / 5.71 to 6.04 cm)
for easier installation.
16
Follow steps 1-6 of the
Pad Lift Actuator Removal and Installation
section in reverse order to re-install the Lift Actuator in the
machine.
17
Test the machine for proper operation.
