PAD PRESSURE ADJUSTMENT
Functional Overview
The amount of pressure applied to the burnishing pad can be adjusted over a defined limited range by changing (programming) the pad
“pressure” setting in the control unit. The main control unit does not set an absolute pressure; rather it controls the amount of electrical
power (maximum amperage) used by the pad motor which results in a relative pressure change (weight to the pad). The range of
adjustment is from a setting of –4 (low-pressure) minimum current load to a +2 (high-pressure) maximum current load.
To change the pad “pressure” level, perform the following steps:
1
See Figure 5. Turn the Key Switch (A) off and wait until the display is off.
2
Press and hold the Pad Lift Raise / Lower Switch (B) in the UP position.
3
Turn the Key Switch (A) on.
Note: In the next programming step there is a small difference in the information displayed on the control panel when entering the pad
pressure adjustment mode.
4A
For machines before S.N. 1507058 using P.N. 56420145 micro controller, continue holding the Pad Lift Raise / Lower Switch (B)
in the UP position until one or both of the green up or down arrow indicators comes on. This will take about three seconds.
4B
For machines after S.N. 1507059 using P.N. 56420189 micro controller, continue holding the Pad Lift Raise/Lower switch (B) in
the UP position until the display (C) is scrolling the word “ADJUST”.
5
Release the pad up/off switch.
6
The Display (C) will show “PA” followed by a number (2, 1, 0, -1, -2, -3, -4).
7
Pressing and releasing the Pad Lift Raise / Lower Switch (B) in the UP position will increase the pad pressure one step at a time
(2 is the maximum setting).
8
Pressing and releasing the Pad Lift Raise / Lower Switch (B) in the DOWN position will decrease the pad pressure one step at a
time (-4 is the minimum setting).
9
To save the new setting, turn the Key Switch (A) off.
NOTE: The default setting is 0. At this setting the performance of the burnisher is comparable to a propane machine.
