SPECIAL CONTROL MODES FOR MACHINES AFTER SN 1507058
SERVICE TEST MODE
To assist in the troubleshooting and servicing of the electrical system and related components on the 2700/BHS7014 burnishers, a special
test mode which allows independent control of the various outputs and monitoring of the various inputs has been incorporated. To enter
the test mode perform the following steps:
1
Press and hold pad down switch while turning the key switch on.
2
Continue holding the pad down switch until the status display is scrolling the word “SELECT”.
3
Release the pad down switch.
4
Press and release the pad down switch once. The status display should now be scrolling the word “TEST”.
5
Press and release the pad up switch to enter the service test mode.
6
To exit this mode turn the key switch off.
Following is a detailed description of the service test mode functions:
Input Indicators:
Battery status red indicator:
Pad contactor contact sense input. This will be lit whenever the sense wire that is connected to the switched side of the pad contactor
contacts has B+ applied to it. Normally this indicator will be off if the pad motor is off and it will be on when the pad motor is on.
Battery status yellow indicator:
New cable sense input. This will be lit whenever the sense input at J6-4 has B- applied to it (new cable). This input tells the control box
which pad motor cable is being used. It will be lit when a new cable (p/n 56420190) is used and not lit when an old cable (p/n 56420124)
is used.
Battery status green indicator:
Speed control PROGRAM 2 signal input. This will be lit whenever the PROGRAM 2 output from the speed control is at B+. Normally
this indicator will be off if the throttle is in neutral and it will be on when the throttle is in forward or reverse.
Drive system overload indicator:
Drive wheel circuit breaker sense input. This will be lit whenever the sense wire that is connected to the speed control side of the drive
system circuit breaker has B- applied to it. Normally this indicator will be off if the drive circuit breaker is closed and it will be on when
the circuit breaker is tripped.
Key switch indicator:
Seat switch input. This indicator will be green whenever the seat switch input has B+ applied to it. It will be red otherwise.
STATUS DISPLAY:
If no over-current faults are present, the status display will show the battery voltage. This display is accurate to /- 0.15 volts.
Therefore, the voltage displayed may not correlate precisely to a high-accuracy, calibrated voltmeter.
The leftmost digit of the display is used to indicate the current direction for the pad/brush lift actuator. This will be described in detail in
the sections pertaining to the control of the actuator outputs.
If over-current faults are present, the status display will indicate the fault codes.
