Error Code
Fault Description
Troubleshooting Action
Err09
Pad motor open circuit (**)
1. Turn key switch off. 2. Wait for display to go off. 3. Check for
disconnected pad motor, open in wiring or defective pad motor.
4. Verify that 8 pin connector on the main board is properly
installed. 5. Check negative supply cable to pad motor for wiring
problem or improper modification (this is a special cable and must
be replaced with the correct APA part). 6. Turn key on to reset.
Err10
Pad motor contactor shorted
1. Check contactor for welded contacts. 2. If welded replace
contactor.
Err11
Pad motor contactor open (**)
1. Turn key switch off. 2. Wait for display to go off. 3. Check wiring
to pad motor. 4. Check contactor for proper operation. 5. If
defective, replace contactor. 6. Turn key on to reset.
Err12
Pad motor contactor coil overload
1. Turn key switch off. 2. Wait for display to go off. 3. Check
suppression diode for continuity in one direction only, if not,
replace diode. 4. Check coil resistance, if less than 80 ohms
replace the K1 contactor. 5. Turn key on to reset.
Err13
Pad motor contactor coil severe overload
Same “Troubleshooting Action” as Err 12.
Err14
Pad motor contactor coil open (**)
1. Turn key switch off. 2. Wait for display to go off. 3. Check for
open in wiring. 4. If OK, replace contactor. 5. Turn key on to reset.
Err17
Pad motor cable thermistor failure
Machine exposed to a very cold or hot operating temperature.
Allow machine to be warmed or cooled to room temperature.
Temp range 32
º
F to 185
º
F (0 to 85
º
C) 2. Cable failure, replace
the brush motor negative cable assembly (this is a special cable
and must be replaced with an original APA part). Note: Machine
will still operate if error persists, replace.
Err18
K1 Pad contact sense wire shorted
Wiring error (check GRY/RED wire) or possible control box
failure.
Err19
K1 Coil drive output fault (not turned on)
Check pad contactor coil wiring (RED/WHT wire to ground) for
problems. Possible control box failure.
Err20
K1 Pad current sense wire
Possible problem with pad motor current sense wire (color
input fault (high)
Gray). Check Neg. thermistor cable assembly connections.
Err21
K1 Pad current sense wire
Possible problem with pad motor current sense wire (color
input fault (low)
Gray). Check Neg. thermistor cable assembly connections.
Err22
K1 Pad contactor coil drive short (external) Possible external ground source shorted to contactor
(not turned on)
coil (RED/WHT wire).
Err23
K1 Pad contact sense wire open (**)
Wiring error (gray wire) or possible control box failure.
Err24 – Err32
Not used
Service Tip: When troubleshooting the main controller, always check all the wiring connected to the controller for any possible damage.
Damage to the wiring insulation could allow current leakage to any metal found in the electrical panel assembly and cause numerous
control system faults.
