2. Select One Time Dial and click the trackwheel. The Phone Number/DCID
dialog box appears.

3. Type your contact’s Nextel Direct Connect Number. Press the PTT button.
The handheld beeps to indicate that the call is placed.
4. Press and hold the PTT button to speak to your contact. Release the PTT
button to listen to your contact.
To place a one-time Nextel Direct Connect Call Alert
A Call Alert is a discreet way to notify a contact that you want to speak to using
Nextel Direct Connect.
1. On the Home screen, click the Phone icon. The Phone screen appears.
2. Select One Time Dial and click the trackwheel. The Phone Number/DCID
dialog box appears.
3. Type your contact’s Nextel Direct Connect Number. Click Alert . The Ready
To Alert dialog box appears and displays your contact’s Nextel Direct
Connect Number.
4. Press the PTT button. The Alert Sent dialog box appears. The Alert Successful
dialog box appears after your contact receives notification of the alert.
5. Press and hold the PTT button to speak to your contact. Release the PTT
button to listen to your contact.
Tip: On the Phone screen, you can also press the Space key to open the Phone
Number/DCID dialog box.
