Failover after
. The WAN interface is considered down after the configured number of
sequential queries have been sent without a response from the DNS server or from the ping
destination. When the active WAN interface goes down, the DGFV338 activates the other
WAN interface. The minimum number of failed queries is two.
Configuring the WAN Mode Settings
To configure the WAN mode:
1.
Select
Network Configuration
from the main menu and
WAN Settings
from the submenu.
Click the
WAN Mode
tab and the WAN Mode screen will display.
2.
Select either the
NAT
or
Classical Routing
radio button. If you have a single Internet address,
you must use NAT.
3.
Select your WAN port configuration:
•
Select the
Auto-Rollover
radio button and designate the primary port from the pull-down
menu. Auto-Rollover is available only if you have connected and configured both an
ADSL ISP and an Ethernet ISP connection.
•
Select the
Use Dedicated WAN port
radio button and select the dedicated port from the
pull-down menu if you will use only one WAN port.
4.
If you selected Auto-Rollover mode, select the WAN Failure Detection Method:
•
Select
DNS lookup using configured DNS Servers
(default), or
•
Select
DNS lookup using this DNS Server
and enter a DNS server IP address, or
