THE OPERATOR PANEL
Service Messages
If a major problem occurs, the Operator Panel will display
the
CALL SERVICE
message preceded by an error message.
The amber light will be on. You must call an authorized
service representative to resolve this problem. Report the
code when you call. This will assist in diagnosing the
problem. See Chapter 10 for more information about getting
service.
Service Message
Explanation
PRG ERR
CALL SVC While booting up the ROM’s
checksum fails and the message
INITIALIZING
appears on the Operator
Panel. The printer needs to be turned
off and then on again. If the problem
persists, contact customer service and
support.
IDP ERR
CALL SVC The printer controller’s program has a
problem. This occurs when some data
processing error is found by the
printer controller’s firmware. The
printer needs to be turned off and then
on again. If the problem persists,
contact customer service and support.
LSU ERR
CALL SVC The laser scan unit has a problem. The
printer needs to be turned off and then
on again. If the problem persists,
contact customer service and support.
FSR ERR
CALL SVC The fuser unit has a problem. The
printer needs to be turned off and then
on again. If the problem persists,
contact customer service and support.
EIF ERR
CALL SVC The interface between the printer
controller and the engine has a
problem. The printer needs to be
turned off and then on again. If the
problem persists, contact customer
service and support.
